11 Commas And A Full stop.

If you’re reading this post, I’m more than happy we made it into year 2018! Last year was sooo amazing! During the course of last year, I met a lot of interesting people that added value, in one way or another, to my life. I also did things I never thought I would do. Like blogging, for starters. Early January, last year, was the time I learnt that CTRL + Z is the command for ‘undo‘ for Windows computers.

I was computer illiterate until February, when I ventured into graphics designing, and other amazing, yet challenging areas of ICT. But I didn’t only improve on that area. My emotional life made a positive U-turn, as well as my academic life. And it was last year that I discovered my purpose in life. 2017 was indeed a great year, and I’m glad we made it through in one piece.

Shout Outs

I want to make a few shout outs to my favorite blogs/bloggers for the year 2017. These are the blogs that either mentored me, motivated me, or the ones I secretly stalk because of their awesomeness! You should check out their blogs though. They’re crazily amazing!

1. Daily Post

Everything my blog is today, I owe it to two blogs. And this blog is one of the two. Until the 10th of November, I had just one follower and five post likes on my blog. (Here’s the funny part: I was the one that liked those five posts). But all that changed the day I first participated in their daily post/daily prompt challenge. Then, I started posting frequently and gained an impressive amount of traffic, for a beginner. Many cheers to the big brains behind this blog!

2. The Cat Chronicles

Her posts are sooo feline! She’s that blogger that blogs for her cat, Tabby, because she has opposable thumbs. The first post I read on her blog was ‘Ginger Cat‘. And after that, I graced my eyes with a few more of her posts, then I fell in love with her blog immediately. Stalking her blog has become a habit for me, but I never tell her this. Else she’ll say I’m stalking her cat…

3. Poet Girl Em

If you’re a lover of everything poetic, you should check out her blog. Her poems have put me in moods I never knew existed. They always have a way of relating to every significant and seemingly insignificant thing! (Nature, weather, animals, personality, memories..) And the way she does it……. Simply poetic!

4. Revolving Around Life

My respect and admiration for this blogger started the very day I read her blog post, Strut way of life. At the time, I had never read any article that related to me as much as hers did. She’s another person that knows how to relate to others through her posts. She’s an amazing writer, and her other posts are just as amazing!

5. Lifelessons – A blog by Judy Dykstra-Brown

Another poet and writer I adore! She writes in a way that makes me wish I could go back in time and write her posts before she even finds inspiration to write them. She bends poems, essays and images to her will in every of her blog post that I’ve read. But what I love more about her is her way of replying comments. She doesn’t give cold, detached, one-word replies, except when necessary. That’s about two good enough reasons to stan her blog.

6. Anne’s Adventure Blog

This blogger is a very special friend of mine, even though we’ve never met before. She’s been away from the blogging world for a while now, but back when she was in her A game, I was her number one fan, and I still am. Her photography skills are as awestricken as her writing skills. And another reason she’s in my list of favorites is ’cause she was my first follower.

7. Justbeingnessa

I’ve not really interacted with this blogger, but I interact with her posts very well. In fact, I used to stalk her blog more than I do mine. πŸ˜‚ Her book reviews are really lovely! But part of the reason why I’m drawn to her blog is her drive, and determination. She’s one of those people who remains consistent in achieving whatever they want to achieve, and I can tell just by reading the lines of her posts. I know she’ll go places!

8. Quirks and Pearls

My admiration for Nakas isn’t going to die anytime soon. Odinaka, or Nakas, as she likes to be called, radiates Motivation and everything synonymous! Her blog radiates the motivation embedded in her posts that radiate the motivation embedded in her being. She blogs about inspiration and Faith, and has inspired the lives of many people, I’ve realized. She also inspired the idea of my blog series, 9Perspectives, and I would forever thank her and watch her forever beg me to stop thanking her. πŸ˜‹

A friend of Nakas is a friend of mine. And an enemy of Nakas…….. — you get the idea now, right? LOL. Do check out her blog. You can never regret doing so.

9. Foolproof Musings Of A Weirdie

Sim Ofutet doesn’t blog about motivation per se, but all the times I started a conversation with her, I ended feeling filled with motivation. She’s part of the few people that helped me a few weeks back when I had almost given up on something. She shared a bit of her story with me, and like I said, I felt filled with motivation afterwards. Aside from that, her posts are craaaaaaazyyy! I’m a big fan of Sim’s. Check out the musings of this weirdie…. Weird attracts weirder….

10.Beckie’s Mental Mess

Beckie blogs about mental health awareness, and boy do I love her writing! Mostly her poems — especially her haiku. She’s always very expressive in her posts, poems, and comments. She’s another blogger whose blog I enjoy stalking. And also another blogger who motivated me at the time my faith was at its weakest. Thank you so much, Beckie. Wish you success in all your endeavors this 2018.

11. One day at a time…

To be honest, I haven’t read much of this blogger’s posts yet he’s seen about all of mine. Gosh, I don’t even know his name. 😫
I feel like an ingrate right now. He’s among my favourite bloggers not just because I can testify to the awesomeness of the few posts he’s written that I’ve read; but also because of the comments he leave on my posts. I so looooove his comments. They’re always “perfect”. I wish I could explain better.

They’re funny when necessary; plain when necessary; and most importantly, inspiring when necessary. I’m a big fan of yours, Sir. Thank you for everything! 😊

12. Miss Purple heart

Believe me, I was saving the best for last.

People may call her miss Purple heart, but I simply call her ‘Aby‘! She’s the second reason my blog is what it is today. (The first reason, actually. But like I said, I was saving the best for last). She took up the role of mentoring me some time around mid-October, and ever since then, she’s been reviewing my posts, offering advice and better methods, when necessary, and giving me a massive ‘Kudos’, when necessary too. Her writing skills are sooo amazing; her blog posts, images, designs, and every distinct part of her blog — they’re all amazing, and I often fight the urge to turn my blog into an exact replica of hers. She’s such a selfless person, and I’m glad I have someone like her watching my back. She’s my drive in this blogging world — whether she knows it or not.

So how many are they? Ten? Twenty? They’re actually more than that, but these are just the few that made a positive impact on me personally last year. That your blog isn’t listed here doesn’t mean I love your blog any less. (I wonder if I made it into anyone’s list of favorites πŸ˜‚).

Now, I’ll gladly put a full stop to this post, and to the year, 2017 — after eleven splendid commas!

It’s finally official! Happy New Year, everyone! 😘

  1. Oh, Obi… You made me laugh with this one. I did not expect it, but I am honored by your mention.
It’s great to hear that my comments are less annoying than plastic bags flying on the streets on a windy day, hitting people in the face, blocking their vision, suffocating them…
Your posts are great. I noticed mine are rather lengthy, but I might work on that in 2018.
By the way, there are more than just “a” full stop in this post. You might want to take some Math classes in the new year!

    1. Hah! πŸ˜‚ … This is your first comment on my blog this year, and I love it already. πŸ˜‚

I still wonder why you think poorly of your comments. πŸ˜•

That aside, I wish you success in all your endeavors this year, Sir. 😊
Thanks for being there for me in 2017

            1. My friends never stop talking about the movie. πŸ˜‚
I’ve never watched it. It’s not really my type of movie. But yeah, I know Obi One Kenobi. They (my friends) also never let me rest on his matter. They keep telling me about how awesome the dude is. πŸ˜’

                1. Okay, spill! Who told you the meaning of my name? πŸ˜’
I don’t think I’ve mentioned it before on my blog. πŸ˜‚
And I don’t think the all great and powerful Google knows the meaning of my name.

Your posts are always relatable and well thought out. Thankyou for being a huge part of my 2017 and for all the encouraging comments here and there.
It’s great to know that someone actually reads the incoherent mess I write down.
    2018 will be greater.
    Happy New year.
